Jiaqi Ruan

Hi there 👋! I am Jiaqi Ruan, a PhD Student of School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, supervised by Prof. Luo Mai. Before coming to Edinburgh, I received my master degree at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), where I was advised by Prof. Cheng Li. I was fortunate to do a one-year visiting at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), working with Prof. Xiaosong Ma.

My research interest lies in Machine Learning Systems, I focus on improving the efficiency of ML training and inference by orchestrating and co-optimizing compute, communication, and memory resources. At the same time, I am interested in exploring how AI agents can autonomously and rigorously design and implement efficient, scalable, and reliable systems with minimal human supervision.

During my spare time, I like music the most. I enjoy attending lives in person and making new friends. My favorite band is Sakanaction.
